What is a Precinct Caucus?

A precinct caucus is the gathering of registered Republican voters within a county to elect Leadership for each polling precinct and to identify Delegates and Alternates to participate in an upcoming County Convention.

Why is it important to me?

Elections and qualified candidates don't just happen on their own. It all begins at the grassroots level. Precinct leadership is to organize and motivate other passionate Republicans in their voting areas. If you are a concerned citizen and love this country, this is the most foundational part of the process... mobilizing neighbors to educate and inspire. You are important to the cause!

Those who participate in the Cherokee County Precinct Caucus will elect the Delegates for the Cherokee County Convention that will be held on March 15th at 10:00 am. At the Cherokee County Convention we will elect Officers for the Cherokee County GOP Executive Committee. Only Delegates can vote at the county convention for the Cherokee GOP Officers, and they will elect the Delegates for the District and State Conventions.

Cherokee GOP is governed by the Cherokee County Committee. The County Committee is comprised of the Precinct Chairs that are elected at the Precinct Caucus and the officers of the Executive Committee that are elected at the County Convention by Delegates from the Precinct Caucus.

Do I need to be a CCRP Member to participate?

You do not need to be a paid member to attend our meetings. While all of the County Committee members are volunteers, paid member support enables us to maintain our headquarters for meeting space, and systems for communications. Please consider joining here.
