CCRP Special County Committee Meeting
This communication is to serve as notice that as of November 25, 2024, the Cherokee County Republican Party (CCRP) Chairman has resigned. Accordingly, pursuant to Art. X, Sect. A of the CCRP bylaws, CCRP First Vice Chair Todd Smith has assumed the role of Acting Chairman of the CCRP.
In addition, as of November 25, 2024, the CCRP Vice Chair of Candidates and Elected Officials has resigned.
On November 25, 2024, the CCRP Executive Committee held an emergency meeting. Pursuant to Art. X, Section B of the CCRP bylaws, the Executive Committee appointed Honey Burfield to serve as Acting Vice Chair of Candidates and Elected Officials of the CCRP.
Pursuant to Art. X, Sect. A of the CCRP bylaws, notice is hereby given: 1) of the vacancy of the position of CCRP Chairman and 2) of a special meeting of the CCRP County Committee, which will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 7:00PM. The meeting will be held at the CCRP Headquarters, 9425 Highway 92, Suite 112, Woodstock, GA 30188. The sole agenda item of the meeting will be to fill the role of Chairman of the CCRP on a permanent basis (until the March 2025 County Convention). The meeting will be open to the public. Notice of this meeting will also be posted on the CCRP Website, cherokeegop.org.
Pursuant to Art. XII, Sect. 3 of the CCRP bylaws, any candidate wishing to be considered for any CCRP elective office must first be vetted by the CCRP vetting committee. Accordingly, any individual wishing to be considered for the role of Chairman of the CCRP should submit their letter of interest and political resume to Acting Vice Chair of Candidates and Elected Officials Honey Burfield at vc-candidates@cherokeegop.org. In order to be considered, a candidate must submit their letter of interest and political resume no later than November 30, 2024, at 11:59AM.
