CCRP Executive Committee Meeting
Pursuant to Article X Section C of the Cherokee County Republican Party (CCRP) bylaws, this communication is to serve as notice that the following elective positions on the CCRP executive committee are currently vacant:
Vice Chair of Candidates and Elected Officials
Vice Chair of Precinct Development
Vice Chair of Public Relations
Commission District Chair, District 2
This communication is further to serve as notice of a CCRP executive committee meeting to be held on December 20, 2024, at 6:00PM. The meeting will be held via Zoom, but is open to the public

The agenda of the meeting will include the filling of the vacancies for Vice Chair of Precinct Development and Vice Chair of Public Relations with acting officers.
The position of Commission District Chair, District 2 will remain vacant until filled by the segment of the county committee representing Commission District 2 (see CCRP bylaws, Art. X.D.). The executive committee has already appointed Honey Burfield to serve as Acting Vice Chair of Candidates and Elected Officials.
The agenda may also include other necessary business.
Pursuant to Article X, Section B of the CCRP bylaws, the executive committee intends to (but is not compelled to) fill the vacancies for Vice Chair of Precinct Development and Vice Chair of Public Relations with acting officers at the December 20, 2024, meeting. The executive committee has the authority only to fill the roles on an acting basis; the vacancies will be filled on a permanent basis at a later county committee meeting (date to be announced) and then will be subject to re-election at the county convention in March (as will all executive committee offices).
If you are interested in applying to be appointed on an acting basis as either Vice Chair of Precinct Development or Vice Chair of Public Relations at the December 20, 2024, executive committee meeting, the CCRP encourages you to review the CCRP bylaws (Article IV Section A Subsections 7 & 8). After having done so, interested members are encouraged to submit their letter of interest and political resume to Acting Vice Chair of Candidates and Elected Officials Honey Burfield at vc-candidates@cherokeegop.org. In order to allow the executive committee due time to review all applications, please submit the requested materials no later than December 18, 2024, at 11:59PM. Please note that while candidates must be vetted prior to election by the county committee, vetting is not necessary prior to appointment on an acting basis by the executive committee.
In addition, if you are interested in applying to be elected to fill the vacancy for either Vice Chair of Candidates and Elected Officials or Commission District Chair, District 2 at a future county committee meeting (date to be announced) the CCRP encourages you to review the CCRP bylaws (Article IV Section A Subsections 3 & 13). After having done so, interested members are encouraged to submit their letter of interest and political resume to Acting Vice Chair of Candidates and Elected Officials Honey Burfield at vc-candidates@cherokeegop.org. There is no deadline for these applications at present, as the date for the county committee meeting at which the vacancies will be filled is yet to be announced. When the deadline is announced, a subsequent notice will be sent. After the dates for the county committee meeting and deadline to apply are announced, candidates will be informed how and when they will need to be vetted for the position for which they intend to apply (see CCRP bylaws, Art. XII.A.3.a.).
